Hastelloy fasteners – high-performance nickel alloy bolts, nuts, and studs offering superior corrosion resistance by grade (C-series for mixed acids/chlorides, B-series for HCl/reducing acids, G-30 for H₃PO₄/HNO₃), high-temperature strength to 2200°F, outstanding pitting and SCC protection, and NACE MR0175 certification for sour gas service. ASTM F467/F468.
Hastelloy fasteners are high-performance nickel alloy bolts, nuts, studs, screws, and washers designed for the most demanding corrosive environments where standard stainless steels and even many superalloys fail. The Hastelloy family offers a range of alloys specifically formulated to combat specific types of chemical attack—from hydrochloric and sulfuric acids to oxidizing media and high-temperature corrosion .
Unlike standard fasteners that rely on passive oxide films for protection, Hastelloy alloys are inherently resistant to a wide range of aggressive media due to their high nickel and molybdenum content. This makes them indispensable for chemical processing, pollution control, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, and marine applications where reliability and long service life are critical .
Hastelloy fasteners are manufactured through cold forging or hot forging processes, achieving superior mechanical properties with high material utilization and precise dimensional control .
Key Features & Benefits
Superior Corrosion Resistance by Grade – Each Hastelloy grade is optimized for specific chemical environments: C-series for mixed acids and chlorides; B-series for pure reducing acids (HCl, H₂SO₄); G-30 for phosphoric/nitric acid; C-2000 for sulfuric acid .
Excellent High-Temperature Strength – Maintains mechanical properties from cryogenic temperatures down to -300°F (-184°C) up to 2000°F (1093°C), depending on grade. Hastelloy X is specifically designed for high-temperature service to 2200°F (1205°C) .
Outstanding Localized Corrosion Resistance – C-series alloys (C-276, C-22, C-2000) provide exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking (SCC) with PREN values up to ≥65 .
Excellent Weldability & Fabricability – Most Hastelloy grades can be welded using standard techniques (GTAW, GMAW, SMAW) and are suitable for use in the as-welded condition without post-weld heat treatment .
NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 Certified – Selected Hastelloy grades (C-276, C-22, C-2000, B-3) are compliant for sour gas service in oil and gas applications .
Wide Product Range – Available in hex bolts, hex nuts, stud bolts, socket head cap screws, machine screws, washers, threaded rods, and custom configurations per ASTM F467/F468
