Product Details

904L (UNS N08904,W.N.r 1.4539) is a fully austenitic stainless steel designed for service in severe corrosive environments where standard austenitic grades such as 304 and 316 are inadequate . The addition of copper enhances resistance to reducing acids, while the high molybdenum and nickel content provides superior resistance to localized corrosion . This alloy is approved for pressure vessel applications under ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and is available with full material traceability and mill test certificates upon request . Typical applications include chemical processing equipment, sulfuric acid plants, phosphoric acid production, seawater cooling systems, pulp and paper bleach plants, and pharmaceutical reactors .
