17-4PH (UNS S17400 / 1.4542) is a martensitic precipitation-hardening stainless steel that offers an outstanding combination of high strength, good corrosion resistance, and excellent toughness up to 600°F (316°C). It is widely used in applications requiring the corrosion resistance of 304/316 but with significantly higher strength.
