Nimonic 90: precipitation-hardenable nickel-chromium-cobalt superalloy offering high stress-rupture strength and creep resistance up to 920°C (1688°F), good oxidation resistance, age-hardenable gamma prime strengthening, and excellent high-temperature spring performance for turbine blades, discs, fasteners, and springs. UNS N07090. W.N.r 2.4632. AMS 5829.

Nimonic 90 is a precipitation-hardenable nickel-chromium-cobalt alloy developed for applications requiring high stress-rupture strength and creep resistance at elevated temperatures up to 920°C (1688°F) . It is a well-proven superalloy widely used in high-temperature conditions, particularly in gas turbine engines and aerospace components .

The alloy’s unique composition—featuring chromium (18-21%) and cobalt (15-21%) with titanium and aluminum additions—enables the formation of gamma prime (γ’) precipitates during heat treatment, which provide exceptional high-temperature strength. Nimonic 90 offers superior performance to Nimonic 80A, particularly at higher temperatures, while maintaining good resistance to oxidation and hot corrosion .

Nimonic 90 is available in a wide range of product forms including wire, bar, sheet, strip, plate, and tube, and is suitable for both high-temperature static and dynamic applications .
